Description

Handmade Pyrography with the Image of the Virgin Mary Liberator

A remarkable image crafted using the pyrography technique, depicting the Virgin Mary as the Liberator. This image has been created entirely by hand.

The Virgin Mary is called “Liberator” because, during the time of the Byzantine Empire, she was recognized as the “Champion General.” Therefore, she was celebrated on October 1st, but for Greek tradition, the feast day was moved to October 28th to coincide with our national holiday. The Virgin Mary is the Liberator not only from visible enemies, those who tried to enslave the country centuries ago.

Moreover, she is the Liberator from internal enemies, from passions and temptations. The Virgin Mary liberated us from these, which is why she is called the Liberator. She is the Liberator of souls, bodies, and the homeland. She liberates us from everything that concerns, troubles, and pains us.

Pyrography: Features
Pyrography is an art that attracts many creators due to the impressive results that can be achieved. It is a painting technique where the two primordial elements of Nature, wood and fire, are used. With patience and attention to detail, monks create the pyrographic image, paying great attention to avoiding mistakes, as these cannot be corrected like pencil sketches.

This particular image combines the art of engraving with that of pyrography, giving an exceptional relief effect.
