Description
Lithograph of Our Lady of the Right-Handed
According to tradition, this particular title was given to the Virgin Mary because she is depicted holding Jesus in her right hand, whereas the more common depiction shows her holding the Divine Infant in her left hand. In this specific image, she is also shown enthroned, which adds even more grandeur to this sacred figure.
However, there is another version for the specific title of the Theotokos. According to this interpretation, the Virgin Mary is and always has been the mediator between humanity and God. She is the one who receives the pleas, prayers, and requests of all people. Our Lady of the Right-Handed is the Mother Mary, the mediator, and the Savior, always present by the side of every person, waiting to hear their prayers in order to intercede for their fulfillment.
