Description
Handmade Hagiography On natural linden wood by the hands of the hagiographer, the saintly monk Father Vasilios, who is buried in the Holy Cell of Agios Anthony of the Holy Monastery of Philotheus.
An exceptional iconography depicting Holy Mary Eleftherotria, crafted entirely by hand.
This specific iconography has been crafted by the Agiorite Father Vasilios, based on Byzantine iconography standards. The depiction of the Saint has been painted entirely by hand. Coating the hagiography with pure beeswax ensures that the colors of the image remain unchanged over time.
Panagia the Liberator was named so because during the years of the Byzantine Empire she was recognized as a Great General. And that is why it was then established to be celebrated on October 1st, however for the Greek data it was moved a little later, on October 28th, to join our national holiday. The Virgin Mary is the Liberator not only from the visible enemies, those who tried centuries before to enslave the country.
At the same time, she is the Liberator from internal enemies, from passions, from temptations. The Virgin Mary freed us from this and that is why she is celebrated and called so, as Eleftherotria. Liberator of souls, bodies and homeland. Liberator from what concerns us and from what worries us, but also from what hurts us.
