Christ the Life-Giver is the source of life, the ruler of life and death. Throughout the history of the world, Christ is the only victor over decay and death. Through His sacrificial death on the cross, He definitively overcame death and sin.

In a world that is disintegrating in decay and corruption, eternity invades, personified in Christ, as the possibility of transcending death. The monks of Mount Athos, using many different techniques that are not as popular today, preserve old woods from utilitarian objects or furniture and transform them into works of art that bear the living imprint of time. The icon of Christ in serigraph has undergone artificial aging to match the stylistic appearance of the old wood. The back of the icon bears the inscription “Άγιον Όρος” (Mount Athos), indicating its origin. The entire piece conveys the history and character of life on Mount Athos.

Since the icon is handmade and the wood is processed by hand, there may be slight variations in the wood, but not in the depiction.
