Silk Screen of Jesus Christ Pantocrator on Naturally Aged Wood

A magnificent silk screen depicting Jesus Christ Pantocrator, which is an excellent example of the craftsmanship of the monks of Mount Athos.

The term “Pantocrator” means the Almighty or the ruler of all, the one who holds all power. The image of the Pantocrator is traditionally depicted on the central dome (cupola) of Byzantine churches. In churches without a dome, in the basilica style, the image is painted at the center of the ceiling. This particular depiction of Christ is one of the traditional themes of Byzantine and post-Byzantine art.

The silk screen has been created on naturally aged wood from a restored cell of Mount Athos, where the cracks and age of the wood are clearly visible, enhancing the unique aesthetic of the icon.

As the image is handmade and the wood processing is done by hand, there may be slight variations in the wood, but not in the depiction itself.
