Description

Silk Screen Printing of Archangel Michael on Naturally Aged Wood

A beautiful silk screen print of Archangel Michael, the leader of the bodiless powers.

Archangel Michael appears as the Commander-in-Chief and plays a crucial role both in the Old and New Testaments.

He was the one who saved the angelic powers from falling with the famous words “Let us attend! Let us stand well, let us stand with fear”. For this boldness, the Triune God gave him the position of “Lord of the Angelic Hosts,” Archistrategos and Archangel. He, along with all the angels, proclaimed the Trisagion Hymn: “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Sabaoth, heaven and earth are full of His glory.” It is also believed that by God’s command, the Protoplasts were expelled from Paradise by Archangel Michael.

He was the one who announced to Abraham the need to sacrifice his son Isaac, and then prevented it. He was also the one who appeared to Lot and saved him and his family from the destruction of Sodom, and to Jacob when he saved him from his brother Esau, who wanted to kill him. Furthermore, Archangel Michael was the one who led the people of Israel out of Egypt, appearing as a cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, guiding them to the Promised Land.

In the New Testament, it is he who will announce the second coming of Jesus Christ. He is prophetically seen leading a host of angels in battle in heaven against “the great Dragon, the ancient serpent, the Devil,” and his demons.

He has become established as the patron saint of the Air Force. He is often depicted holding a spear, but in several representations, he also holds a scepter, a symbol of the authority granted to him by God.

His feast is celebrated together with Archangel Michael on November 8.

The naturally aged wood, originating from a restored Athonite cell, upon which this image is crafted, gives it a unique aesthetic and collectible value, while also conveying a piece of its long history from the Athonite Republic.

Since the image is handmade and the wood is processed by hand, there may be slight variations in the wood, but not in the depiction.

The image is available upon order.
