An amazing gold print with the Agioi Taxiarches.  The Bible often speaks of angels. Angels are God’s creations, immaterial and incorporeal, free from the passions of men. In Orthodox tradition, the image of angels with wings has been formed.

They are depicted in solemnity, in the form of a heavenly army. They are divided and classified into orders with separate names: Angels, Archangels, Authorities, Powers, Powers, Thrones, Lordships, Cherubim and Seraphim. At the head of the angelic forces are the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The name Michael is interpreted as “power of God” and Gabriel as “man of God”.

The gathering of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel is celebrated on November 8

On this day, the Church celebrates the feast of the gathering of the commanders-in-chief Michael and Gabriel and all the heavenly powers in remembrance of Satan’s apostasy. When the archangel Michael saw Satan fall, he called the heavenly powers. He then exclaimed, “Pray,” and praised God with the rest of the angels. This formation was called the gathering of disembodied forces, that is, the union and concord of the good angels.

Sandblasted Gold Printing: Features

In the icon with the representation of the Holy Archangels, the hagiographer monk used the technique of gold printing creating a work of unique beauty. Gold-stamping is a kind of hot-stamping technique. Hot-stamping is the method by which very thin metal gold sheet is placed on surfaces such as wood, leather, cardboard, plastic by pressing a heated embossed plate (plate) on our surface. Around the image you also use the technique of sandblasting, it is the technical treatment that achieves the corrosion of part or all of a surface by pouring sand under pressure.
