On the front side of this amulet there is a relief representation of Panagia Axion Esti, while on the reverse side inside a wonderful gilded frame are written the words “Mount Athos”. This amulet in the form of Panagia Axion Esti is inspired by the icon of Axion Esti, which is located in the Church of Protato in Karyes of Mount Athos and is considered the most important icon of the Athonite State, as he is “Ephestius” and patron saint of the 20 Mount Athos monasteries, a copy of which is found in every monastery.
