On one side of this cross there is an excellent relief representation of Jesus Christ, while around his figure the monk chose to engrave the phrase “IC XC NIKA”. On the second side of the cross there is embossed an ornate cross, where there is also the phrase “IC XC NIKA”, meaning “Jesus Christ Wins”. This particular phrase with the Christogram is found in many Christian handicrafts, icons, and amulets. The abbreviation ISCH XS (JESUS CHRIST) is the most common form of Christogram.
