On the front side of this cross there is a relief representation of the Crucified on the cross of martyrdom. On the second side there is a representation of the Virgin Mary, the most beloved figure of Christianity, as She is the One to whom believers turn both in their joy and sorrow and the One to whom they place their problems and wait for help. Around the figure of the Virgin Mary is engraved the phrase “LORD HAVE MERCY ON ME”, a small prayer from each of us to Christ for protection.
