Gold plated silver neck cross
A neck cross made of pure silver 925o and gilded outline made by a monk of Mount Athos. A monastic handiwork with unique details and embossed motifs is part of a large collection of crosses and amulets, available from the “Mount Athos Heritage”. This cross is worn on both sides and can be a wonderful gift for our loved ones.
Artwork from Mount Athos : What it depicts
On one side of the cross there is a relief representation with the Virgin Mary as Agia Skepi. This is a name that the Virgin Mary took, according to ecclesiastical tradition, when she appeared in the temple of Vlacherna in Constantinople, took off the covering she wore on her head and spread it over the faithful placing them under Her protection. The second side of the cross depicts the Crucifixion. Jesus Christ on the cross of martyrdom, the greatest sacrifice to save humanity.
