Prayer Rope – 50 Knots – Mount Athos

Description

A Mount Athos Prayer Rope, 50 knots with a cross and walnut knots. It is woven with synthetic thread and adorned with a blue bead. It also features a cross at the end, and it is available with or without a tassel.

The prayer rope is not exclusive to monks. According to the command of the Apostle Paul, “pray without ceasing,” anyone can carry a prayer rope in their pocket or another discreet place, so they can pray unnoticed, at any time of the day.

In the Garden of the Virgin, Orthodox monastic tradition defines prayer as an essential daily practice and communication with God. Whether alone or during the Divine Services at the monastery’s Catholicon, monks engage in prayer fervently, with remarkable results.

The making of the prayer rope is a ministry of the monks at Mount Athos, who, through the many monastic products they create, offer every believer the opportunity to experience the monastic life as a source of nourishment for Orthodox Christians everywhere.
