Prayer Bead – 100 Beads – Mount Athos

Athonite prayer bead, 100 beads with a cross and walnut knots. It is woven with synthetic thread and decorated with 7 beads. The beads are available in 3 different colors (yellow, orange, transparent). It also features 3 metal crosses with the seal of Mount Athos.

The prayer bead is not exclusive to monks. According to the command of Apostle Paul, “pray without ceasing,” anyone can carry a prayer bead in their pocket or another discreet place, allowing them to pray unnoticed, without drawing the attention of others, at any time of the day.

In the Garden of the Virgin, the Orthodox monastic tradition considers prayer an essential daily practice and communication with God. Whether alone or during the Sacred services in the Katholikon of the Holy Monastery, the monks engage in prayer with fervor and marvelous results.

The making of the prayer bead is a service performed by the monks at Mount Athos, who, through a variety of monastic products they produce, offer every believer the opportunity to experience monastic life as a core source of nourishment for Orthodox Christians worldwide.
