This prayer rope is woven with synthetic thread and features two gold beads and a red bead in the center. It also has a Cross at the end, adorned with a tassel.

The prayer rope is not exclusive to monks. According to the command of the Apostle Paul, “pray without ceasing,” anyone can carry a prayer rope in their pocket or another discreet place, allowing them to pray unnoticed, without attracting the attention of others, at any time of the day.

At the Garden of the Holy Virgin (Mount Athos), the Orthodox monastic tradition considers prayer an essential daily exercise and communication with God. Whether alone or during the Divine Services in the Cathedral of the Holy Monastery, the monks engage in prayer with fervor and amazing results.
