In the Garden of the Virgin Mary, the Orthodox monastic tradition sees prayer as a necessary daily exercise and communication with God. Whether alone or during the Sacred Services at the Catholicon of the Holy Monastery, the monks engage in prayer with fervor and marvelous results.

The creation of the prayer rope is a ministry of the monks on Mount Athos, who, through a variety of monastic products they produce, provide every believer the opportunity to experience the monastic life as a core source of nourishment for Orthodox Christians worldwide.
