Monastic Neck Cross Made from Olive Wood
The neck cross is an authentic monastic handicraft, created with the skill and dedication of Orthodox monks.
Following the centuries-old monastic tradition, monks work tirelessly to produce a wide variety of handicrafts. Their labor is accompanied by fervent prayer, imbuing their creations with blessings for those who use them.
Neck Cross: Features
This monastic neck cross is made from olive wood. It features 124 beads in beige and brown tones. After every 15 beige beads, three smaller brown beads are interspersed. The cross itself bears a carved depiction of the Crucified Christ. The wooden beads are threaded onto a durable cord.
The wooden neck cross is lightweight and discreet, designed to be worn continuously.
Neck Cross: Why We Wear It
The cross is central to the life of Christians and the Church, symbolizing sacrifice, salvation, joy, sanctification, and grace.
The Cross of the Lord is a symbol and testimony of faith for Orthodox Christians. On it, Jesus redeemed humanity’s salvation through His infinite love.
The mere sight of the cross strikes fear into the devil, preventing his temptations from reaching Christians.
For this reason, Christians wear a cross around their neck as a testimony of their Orthodox faith, a symbol of Jesus’ sacrifice, and a source of protection.
