A wonderful monastic wood-carved amulet with Panagia Glykofilousa.

The wood-carved amulet is made of linden or cherry wood, has a leather cord and the clasp is Silver 925o, by monks with great skill in wood processing. In a relatively small size so that you can wear it and feel that you always have the Grace and protection of the Saints close to you.

On the back of the amulet is written the exact name of the representation.

Panagia Glykofilousa

Like Portaitissa, Glykofilousa is one of those icons that survived iconoclasm and were miraculously transferred to Athos. It was the property of Victoria, pious wife of the iconoclastic senator Simeon, who, in order not to surrender it, threw it into the sea. The icon, floating upright on the waves, reached the arsana of the Philotheos Monastery, where it was received with great honor and joy by the abbot and the fathers of the Monastery, who had been notified by the revelation of the Virgin Mary. At the point on the shore, where they deposited the icon, holy water gushed. There, every year, on Easter Monday, there is a litany and sanctification.

There are many miracles of Glykofilousi. In 1713 he answered the prayers of the pious ecclesiastic Ioannikios, who complained about the poverty of the monastery, assuring him that it had the provision for the material needs of the monastery. In 1800 he rescued a pilgrim who fell under the guest house, located on the third floor. The icon is two-faced with the Crucifixion on the back and is located on the column of the left chorus of the katholikon.
