Wooden Carved Neck Pendant with the Holy Belt, from Mount Athos
A wonderful monastic wooden carved pendant featuring the Holy Belt.
The pendant is crafted from limewood or cherry wood, comes with a leather cord, and has a clasp made of 925 sterling silver. It is meticulously handmade by monks skilled in woodworking. It is designed in a relatively small size so you can wear it and always feel the Grace and protection of the Saints close to you.
On the back of the pendant, the exact name of the depiction is inscribed.
Holy Belt of the Theotokos (August 31st)
According to sacred tradition, the Holy Belt was given by the Virgin Mary to the Apostle Thomas immediately after her Dormition and subsequent Assumption. It is considered an exceptionally holy relic, as it is the only personal item of the Virgin Mary that has been preserved.
The Holy Belt (or Precious Belt) is kept at the Vatopedi Monastery on Mount Athos.
