Cross-Shaped Keychain with Knots – Authentic Athonite Handicraft

An exquisite authentic Athonite handicraft, carefully crafted by the monks of Mount Athos. In addition to serving as a keychain, it is also a stunning cross that we can carry with us to constantly remind us of the Presence and Grace of Christ. Made using the same technique and thread as the prayer ropes, it consists entirely of knots. It is handwoven with parachute cord, making it particularly durable.

Cross-shaped keychains are a new addition to the handicrafts available from “Athonite Heritage,” for which the Athonite State is renowned. What makes them even more valuable are the prayers of the monks while they create these little masterpieces. The Athonite fathers use the proceeds from the sale of their monastic handicrafts for maintenance and restoration work on the Cells and Sketes of Mount Athos. With each purchase of a unique handmade item, each of us contributes to the monks’ effort to preserve the unique beauty of the Athonite State over time.
