Virgin Mary Megalochari
The monks of Mount Athos hold a deep reverence for the Virgin Mary, whom they call the Lady of Athos, as she watches over and protects all the monks. They constantly invoke her name and pray for her intercession with her Son. Due to their great devotion, the monks often depict her image in the various crafts they create.
