The peculiarity of Panagia Eptaspathi

A particularly rare representation of Panagia Eptaspathi. This amulet depicts the Virgin Mary with three swords on each shoulder and a seventh piercing her heart underneath, essentially showing Her immense sorrow for what she experienced and especially for the loss of her only son. In fact, a Russian tradition states that images with this representation are usually placed on the door of the house to protect it from envy, torture and disease.
