Amulet Pillow with safety pin and hematite cross – Mount Athos

Description

A classic woven pillow-shaped amulet in various colors. Crafted from gold thread and silver thread, it forms a cross on both sides. A hanging cross adorns it, which is made of hematite. Inside it carries blessings and has a metal pin to hang it.

Elder Paisios, when asked about amulets, said: “Amulets are fabrics of various shapes, squares or triangles containing various sanctifying items, oil lamp, crossflowers, wax mastic from the inauguration of a temple or from the white uniform of the high priest who performed the inauguration, pieces of relics from saints’ vestments. Apart from the above amulets, which Christians usually obtain from the holy monasteries, there are other amulets. However, amulets alone do not save if there is no faith in God, accompanied by participation in the holy mysteries of the Orthodox Church. Amulets are means sacred to salvation, they are not fashionable. And these amulets are also contagious of God’s grace.”
