Description

Wooden hanging amulet with Saint Charalambos

A wonderful wood-carved amulet from Mount Athos with a relief representation of Saint Charalambos.

It is an elegant & handy handiwork made in linden or cherry wood, by monks with great skill in wood processing. In a relatively small size and with a well-thought-out construction (thanks to the cord on top), it can be placed anywhere in the house, in the car or even in a bag, so that the believer feels that he always has the Grace and protection of the Saint close to him.

At the same time, it can be a very beautiful gift for the people we love.

On the back is the exact name of the representation.

Saint Charalambos (10 February)

Saint Charalambos was a priest in Magnesia, Asia Minor. According to historical evidence, he was arrested by the prefect Lucian, during the period of persecution of Christians (around 198 AD), unleashed by the emperor Septimius Severus. He was subjected to cruel tortures, some of which were subjected to by Lucian himself, because he could not persuade him to deny his faith. He was eventually beheaded at the age of 113.

His memory is honored on February 10 by the Church, which gives him the nickname Hieromartyr. In fact, on the same day are celebrated Saints Porphyrios and Baptist, two of the soldiers who were ordered to torture him and who, seeing his martyrdom, became Christians.
