Description

Wooden Engraved Hanging Amulet with Saint Mina

A beautiful wooden amulet from Mount Athos featuring a relief depiction of Saint Mina.

This is a tasteful and practical craft made from either lime or cherry wood, crafted by monks highly skilled in woodworking. Its relatively small size and well-thought-out design (thanks to the cord attached at the top) make it suitable for placement anywhere in the house, in a car, or even in a bag, allowing the faithful to always feel close to the Grace and protection of the Saint.

At the same time, it can be a lovely gift for loved ones.

The exact name of the depiction is engraved on the back.

Saint Mina

Saint Mina was a soldier who served in Cotyaeum of Phrygia during the reigns of Diocletian (284-305) and Maximian (286-305). Because he could not tolerate idolatry, he withdrew to the mountains of the area, where he lived a life of fasting and prayer. It is notable that other soldiers, his friends, followed him in his ascetic life.
During the persecution of Christians, he went down to Cotyaeum to strengthen the persecuted Christians. There, he was arrested, confessed his faith in Christ, and was martyred by beheading. Christians took his deceased body and buried it, and later, his holy relics were transferred and buried in Egypt.
Saint Mina is the patron saint of Heraklion in Crete and other cities in Greece.
