Description

Wooden hanging amulet with St. John the Baptist

A wonderful wood-carved amulet from Mount Athos with a relief representation of Agios Ioannis Prodromos.

It is an elegant & handy handiwork made in linden or cherry wood, by monks with great skill in wood processing. In a relatively small size and with a well-thought-out construction (thanks to the cord on top), it can be placed anywhere in the house, in the car or even in a bag, so that the believer feels that he always has the Grace and protection of the Saint close to him.

At the same time, it can be a very beautiful gift for the people we love.

On the back is the exact name of the representation.

Saint John the Baptist (7 January)

John was the son of the priest Zechariah and Elizabeth. Until he was thirty, he lived an ascetic life in the Judean wilderness, devoted entirely to prayer and spiritual perfection. His garment was made of camel hair, at his waist he had a leather belt and his food consisted of locusts and wild honey. His teaching is summed up in the characteristic phrase: “Repent; the kingdom of heaven is at hand,” thus preparing the way of our Lord Jesus Christ for His saving work.

Christ Himself  said of him that “no man stood greater than him.”
