Description

Wooden hanging amulet with Saint Paraskevi

A wonderful wood-carved amulet from Mount Athos with a relief representation of Agia Paraskevi.

It is an elegant & handy handiwork made in linden or cherry wood, by monks with great skill in wood processing. In a relatively small size and with a well-thought-out construction (thanks to the cord on top), it can be placed anywhere in the house, in the car or even in a bag, so that the believer feels that he always has the Grace and protection of the Saint close to him.

At the same time, it can be a very beautiful gift for the people we love.

On the back is the exact name of the representation.

Agia Paraskevi (26 July)

Agia Paraskevi was born in Rome during the reign of Emperor Antoninus (138 – 160 AD). She was the daughter of the pious Christians, Agathon and Politeia, who took care of her Christian education, as they had promised God in case she would give them a child. Because the child was born on a Friday, he received this name.

After the death of her parents, Paraskevi distributed all her property to the poor and developed missionary activity in Rome and the outskirts of the city, preaching the word of Christ. Her action provoked the pagan emperor Antoninus, who arrested her and, seeing her faith steadfast, subjected her to tortures which she endured with perseverance.
