Seal for Mount Athos

The seal for Mount Athos is carved by hand in the Holy Skete of Saint Basil and is available exclusively from the “Mount Athos Heritage”.

The seal of Mount Athos for prosphoros is wooden from poplar wood, with a deep engraving, thick perimeter and correct symbolism that faithfully follows the authentic Orthodox semantics. The seal has in the center a square that reads Jesus Christ Wins.

Seal for Mount Athos – what does it symbolize?

This point is called the lamb and the priest cuts it out in the shape of a cube from the proskomidi, according to Proskomidi.

This piece is placed on the Holy Tray and is the one that is then transformed into the Body of Christ. On the left is a triangular piece in which the letters M and Θ (Mother of God) can be seen and symbolizes the Virgin Mary.

On the right is a square piece enclosing 9 triangles. These symbolize the nine classes of Angels and Saints.
