Description

Lithograph of Saint Arsenios

A beautiful lithograph depicting Saint Arsenios.
Saint Arsenios the Cappadocian was a hieromonk from Asia Minor. He is venerated as a Saint by the Eastern Orthodox Church, according to the Synodal Act of the Ecumenical Patriarchate dated February 11, 1986.

The technique of lithography is taught in the iconography workshops of Mount Athos and is also used by many monks to create remarkable works of art. In this case, the monastic iconographer used a lithographic reproduction in the style of Byzantine art and completed the piece by following the traditional method of handcrafted aging. The result is a magnificent artwork of unique aesthetic value. The wood has been treated with the appropriate materials to ensure long-lasting color durability over time.
