Description

Glass bottle for holy water and for myrrh. It has a plastic screw cap with a cross, which is decorated with a black sticker.

Consecration is the special, extraordinary service of the Orthodox Church that recalls the Baptism of Christ in the Jordan River, and during which the priest sanctifies the water with wishes, invocation of the Holy Spirit and triple immersion of the Holy Cross in the water.

The Minor Sanctification is celebrated on the first day of every month and has its own Order.

The Great Sanctification takes place on January 5 and 6, when the waters are sanctified.

Members of the Orthodox Church believe that sanctification is protective and for this reason they drink holy water and then keep small bottles with it, either that of Theophany, or from the monthly sanctification.
