Description
Holy Elder Paisios Agioreitis, his pedagogical thought
This book focuses on an interesting aspect of the teaching of St. Paisios the Saint, this great personality of the 20th century. It approaches him as a Pedagogue and Teacher and attempts to evaluate the pedagogical proposals that emerge through his works. The Elder was not a graduate of theological and other schools, so that his counseling would be systematic. His works are not a scientific study of family life and especially of Christian child rearing. However, although he was a simple carpenter, his exhortations are a distillation of his experience in Christ and the experience that comes from the Grace of the Holy Spirit.
The reader will find the identification of the ideas of an oligoliteral monk with those of the great Fathers of our Church, but also distinguished scientists in the field of Pedagogy and Psychology. The pedagogic thought of the holy Elder around the child and the actors of the education is presented, interpreted and systematized, as it is formulated and is scattered in his works.
